The creation of the Adverse Events Relief Fund formalised the work of generations of Members who have supported their communities in the face of adverse events. This Fund enables us to provide rapid assistance to those in need. The application criteria are flexible so that we can provide targeted responses to those who need help quickly and in a variety of circumstances.
The Fund is currently experiencing increased demand with a high volume of applications in response to the impact of Cyclones Hale and Gabrielle on rural communities.
As the recovery efforts continue, we anticipate that though there will be opportunities for a wider range of support, the capacity to provide financial support through the Adverse Events Relief Fund will remain important.
